It’s finally time!!
Welcome to the new Run Whole Nutrition – formerly Beets Not Meats!
I am so so excited this update is finally here! I’ve been wanting to recreate this site for quite some time now, so to see things finally coming together makes me so very happy.
The idea to do some changes all started with my previous blog name – Beets Not Meats. While I loved the catchy name (and still do!), I started to feel a little uneasy with the “Not Meats” part. Anyone who’s been reading this blog for awhile now likely knows that there was a point in my life where I was 99% vegan, and while I still support a plant-based lifestyle, I do eat meat and dairy now. While I will never ever look down on someone for deciding to go vegan, for me, it didn’t really align with my core beliefs of eating all foods intuitively and without restrictions. I plan to write a full post on this at some other time, so we’ll save the rest of that for later!
So what’s the story behind the new name? Well, a lot of things. For starters, I’m a runner and feel the best when consuming a primarily whole-foods diet. But running whole isn’t just about the food. It also means feeling “whole” – without restrictions, self-imposed food rules, or labels. It means practicing some self-care, giving yourself what you need, and feeling whole and at peace with life and your body.
There are some new things about this site that you’ll find as well!
First, I now have new links up in the top menu bar specifically for recipes, running, intuitive eating resources, and all about that #rd2be life! While I used to focus almost 100% on producing recipes, I want to turn this space into more of a real life & professional portfolio that will reflect my aspiring RD status a little better. You’ll now be able to find much more info about my life as an aspiring dietitian, as well as some resources on how you can adopt a more balanced, intuitive lifestyle.
Within both The Blog and Running categories, you’ll also soon be able to find more evidence-based information on all of the latest topics in nutrition and health. With so much conflicting nutrition information out there, it is so important for more RD’s and students to provide credible information that has been backed up by research. These sections will contain a mix of all sorts of topics, but all information will be evidence-based and without bias!
You can also sign-up for my email newsletter list above if you want more posts coming your way!
Finally, be sure to follow my new pages on Instagram & Twitter! This process has been a long one, but I’m so glad it is finally here and thankful for all of those that have stuck by me and continued to tune into this space throughout all the change! 🙂
