PRACTICE PHILOSOPHY

Inclusivity: We strive to provide a safe space for all races, genders, sizes, sexual orientations, abilities, religions, and ages. Anti-oppression work is necessary in eating disorder treatment.

Non-Judgment: Dietitians shouldn’t be the food police! At RWN, you will never be judged for how you care for your body. We strongly believe that you are the expert of your own body.

Autonomy: While I have training in nutrition, you are the expert of your own body! My role is simply helping you learn to better trust and respect your body’s innate wisdom.

Flexibility: Food should enhance your life – life should not be controlled by food. We encourage you to find a pattern of eating that adds value to your life, not takes you away from it.

Compassion: Talking about food and body concerns is never easy. We understand nutrition therapy can sometimes be difficult and are there to help you through every step.

Intuition: We are all born with an innate sense of what and how much food we need. While the diet industry works to sever that connection, we help you learn to connect with your body again.

“Megan is such an incredible dietitian. I have seen so many dietitians in the past for eating disorder recovery and she is by far the best that I have ever had. She is incredibly kind, patient, compassionate, and knowledgeable. I know without a doubt that she cares about me and wants the best for me. I highly recommend.”

“I cannot recommend Megan more highly. She is compassionate, helpful, and a fierce advocate for her clients. As a person in a larger body, I also really appreciated her attention to details that many smaller-bodied folks are unaware of or oblivious to. I will absolutely see Megan again if the need for her services arises!”

OUR APPROACH

Health At Every Size®

All interventions at Run Whole Nutrition are founded on the principles of Health At Every Size®. We believe that health exists on a continuum and strive to promote health equity, improve access to healthcare regardless of size, and work to end weight discrimination.

We believe that all ethical and effective eating disorder care must be HAES®-aligned. We do not support nor encourage the pursuit of intentional weight loss, as this pursuit has been shown to promote poor long-term health outcomes and further stigmatize and oppress marginalized communities.

Health At Every Size® and HAES® are registered trademarks of the Association for Size Diversity and Health and used with permission.

Individualized Nutrition Support

No client that we work with is the same. Because of this, our nutrition interventions will never be exactly the same either! Our role as dietitians is to help determine what you need to support a more healthy relationship with food and your body.

For some, that may involve more formal meal planning to help you re-regulate your body’s cues and establish a more adequate pattern of eating. For others, a more intuitive approach may be more helpful, to help you tune into your body’s internal wisdom.

Together, we will work to dismantle self-doubt around eating and uncover a new way of fueling that allows you to nourish your unique body.
